every single thing ive tried on quarter sheets' menu have been so so so good!!! in love with the sicilian corner, the sausage goes so well with all the other toppings. got to try their potato (polish yacht) pizza tonight and im still drooling over it. dont skip their dessert menu as well - their princess cake is sooooo delectable. the wait can be crazy long at times but they have a pickup option. the place is overall small, but the vibes are so cute and date night-y.
I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza I had here. My friend recommended this as our Sunday lunch and I haven't had the opportunity to try out Detroit style pan pizza outside of the chain places. I'll start off by saying GET THE MEATBALLS! They are large, very moist and the amount in a plate was plentiful. The garlic cheesy bread they give on the side would honestly make this appetizer a meal on its own. As for the actual pizza itself, I loved the pepperoni slice because of how meaty the pizza was and the cheese pull was spectacular. I thought the seasonal pizza was just alright, but not really going to knock any points just because I still liked the potatoes on my slice. Overall, it's a fantastic meal and worth a try. We waited in the line about 35-40 mins before opening and were seated immediately, but I'd suggest reserving a spot if you're afraid about trying to snag available street parking.
Parking: I went earlier, before noon, and got lucky with street parking. Atmosphere: very small space, so it fills quickly Food: had the melon salad and a variety of pizzas. All were delicious and lives up to the hype. Service: very good Overall, it's best to come early to snag a good spot in line.
I'm going to keep this simple and short. Our minister said this was her favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles. When the lord is on your side how can you go wrong? Blessed pizza. Go with the pepperoni or bianca. Amen.
This is a well-kept and well-sought secret for in-people in LA, and after being there, it is not difficult to conclude why. The place appears to be a hole in the wall, small, with only a limited number of tables which do not match the high interest. I had the luxury privilege to have someone familiar with the system and be there in time before a long line formed, of which only the first few parties are truly seated. The inside ambience is beautiful, relaxing, good music, nice staff. Most importantly the food was exceptional, simply everything, fresh, creative, tasty. And given that the owner couple's wife is a pastry chef, one should definitely not skip desserts. Definitely a must!
Came here right at opening on a Saturday night and there was already a long line. Unfortunately there was no space inside but we were able to stand at a standing table outside! Food and service were relatively quick! The pizzas were 3.5/5 good, but not mind blowing (and did not live up to the hype that I had heard) and I probably would not wait in a long line again for it. But if I were in the area and there wasn't a wait would give it another shot! The deserts were amazing though, and would give 5/5 for those. Overall this place is good but I didn't think worth waiting long amounts of time for/worth the hype.
A recent visit to one of my favorite pizza places in all of Los Angeles. A few friends and I were trying to find dinner on the later side. We showed up without a reservation about half an hour before closing. Luckily they were able to seat us at the bar. It should be noted that this was on a weeknight, but still, the folks were just so friendly and accommodating. The place was still pretty packed, but the vibe was chill. We ordered a few slices to share along with a side dish made of Weiser Farm melons that was just so refreshing and had a delicious taste of sesame. The slices of course were all delicious. We also got the pluot/strawberry pie for dessert with ice cream. Such a taste of dessert. No surprise at the desserts here are amazing.
I've only heard good things about Quarter Sheets and I can confirm that it's true. We arrived 15 minutes before closing so we arrived thinking the kitchen was closed but the worker kindly took our order and a few people after us too! We ordered a pepperoni pizza and two slices of the Sicilian corner. I could not get over how good the dough was for the pepperoni pizza. The edges were super crispy and the dough itself was fluffy and airy. I would describe it as a cross between sourdough and focaccia but I'm not sure what it actually was. The Sicilian was much more flatter and heavy on the sesame which added a lot of texture. The variety of toppings also made it more exciting since each slice came with sweet peppers, sausage, pecorino, mozzarella, and chili oil. I personally preferred the Detroit-style pizza more and will definitely be back to try the other flavors. I'd also recommend dining in for the freshest bite since we took ours to-go to eat at home.
Came here on Wednesday night around 6p and there was a 25 min wait to get a table, front desk person was very nice so off to a great start. As an LA native who used to roam this particular street to go between Short Stop and Little Joy when it was a dive bar ran by an older Asian woman who'd yell at you to get off the pool table and you could dance the sweaty night away, it was funny to be back in the area and see how cleaned up it is and also how crazy hipster it has become. Not surprisingly, it's been moving this way for a while, just funny and to note so folks don't expect some hole in a wall experience. It's hip, it's trendy, people are dressed cool (but "causal" about it). Alright on to the food, we got the gigante beans starter, at first thought it was yummy but eventually was too salty. Got the Sicilian Corner, Riviera and Tomato Slice. Sicilian corner was good but the combo of ingredients was a bit salty too. Same for the Riviera. However the crust/dough was really good. Crisp but soft, not chewy or dry at all. Surprisingly the star was the Tomato slice! Simple so got to really enjoy the dough/crust and the tomato sauce was good acidity to support. If I come back, I'll just get this slice. Okay the star star of it all though was the Pear Cobbler! Whewwww the cornmeal crust was so good, the pears were not too sweet and great combined with the pear sherbet. WOW. Would come back just for this. Our server was really nice too. Hip but nice is always appreciated when so often that is not the case. Probably won't come back unless someone wants to try the place though.
Pizza well worth the wait! I tried making a reservation online but there were none available so we opted to walk in and get take out. We arrived at QS around 5:30, there were already people in line and people waiting for take out. Parking can be a bit difficult but don't give up. There are always people coming and going. Anyway, there's a line for walk-in seating and take out. We waited maybe 5-10 minutes before we were able to go inside and place an order. The wait for a whole red top pizza and a chocolate chip cookie was about 25 minutes. You can easily kill time walking around Sunset so the time went by fast. I think we ended up waiting a little less than 25 min and our name was called. We eagerly opened the box and took our first bite. At first, I didn't think much of it. The sauce was good but it wasn't anything special. However, once you get into your second and third bite you realize what a perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and crust it all is. The crust is on the thicker side and chewy which was satisfying to eat. It's not greasy at all and looks and tastes like a comforting homemade pizza. I wanted to try some cake but we were on our way to a show and chose the chocolate chip cookie instead. It was downright delightful. Perfect amount of chocolate, gooeyness, but also a bit crispy. I look forward to going back and hopefully dine in next time. Do try this place!!
